Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 11, 2026

Dry Run ("Dry Run," "we," "us") is an iOS app for running an alcohol-free challenge. This policy explains what information the app handles, where it goes, and the choices you have. The short version: almost everything stays on your phone, the social features are opt-in, and we don't run ads, don't use tracking, and don't sell data.

Information stored only on your device

The core of Dry Run works entirely on your iPhone. The following is stored locally (and in your device's app group storage so your widgets can read it) and is not sent to us:

Deleting the app deletes this data.

Optional social features (iCloud / CloudKit)

Some features share limited information through Apple's iCloud (CloudKit) public database. They are opt-in — your core run and personal drink shelf remain on your device unless you choose to use a community feature.

This data is stored in Apple's CloudKit, subject to Apple's privacy practices. CloudKit associates records with technical identifiers needed to sync, deduplicate, update, and delete them. We do not receive your iCloud email address or password.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple and managed through RevenueCat, our subscription infrastructure provider. RevenueCat receives transaction information from Apple (such as purchase and renewal events and an anonymous app user ID) to determine your subscription status. We never see or store your payment card details — Apple handles all payment processing.

To understand who Dry Run helps and where runners hear about us, we also attach some of your onboarding answers to your RevenueCat customer record: your pledge name, how you heard about the app, how often you said you drink, your estimated weekly drinking spend, your goals, and your chosen challenge distance. RevenueCat processes this on our behalf and it is never sold, shared for advertising, or used to track you across other apps. You can request deletion at any time (see “Your choices and rights” below).

Notifications

Daily reminders are scheduled locally on your device. Crew check-in notifications are delivered through Apple's push notification service via CloudKit. Both require your permission and can be turned off in the app or in iOS Settings.

What we don't do

Your choices and rights

Children

Dry Run is not directed at children and is intended for adults of legal drinking age. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 17.

Health disclaimer

Dry Run shows general wellness information about alcohol-free time. It is not medical advice, and the app does not collect health data from HealthKit or any medical source.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the effective date above. Material changes will be called out in the app.
